How many books have you written?
I have written many books that I share with my family.  I have published 11 books and am currently working on oodles more.  I do believe that Ned the Wombat will come along and read them with you too.

Ned has Aspergers Syndrome or ASD – Autistic Spectrum Disorder.  This just means that Ned sometimes thinks a little different and I think that is just fine.  Sometimes we can help Ned by giving him tools to use, but mostly we can help Ned by understanding how he feels.

Is Harry a real person?

Harry is our son and has a wonderful imagination and is constantly inspiring me in writing stories.

Who are Mac and Pa?

Mac and Pa are Harry’s grandparents. Mac is his grandma. Her maiden name was McEwan, so for a long time now she has been called Mac. Pa is Harry’s Grandpa. Their first names are Jean and Alan.

Why does Harry like writing letters?

Harry loves checking the mail box to see if there are any letters for him.
He has learnt that the best way to receive a letter is to first write one.

What is Harry’s favourite colour?
Blue and red with purple spots

Where do you get your ideas from?
My ideas come from many places. Sometimes they come from under the bed, and sometimes they come from inside my head. But mostly they come from places I have been, people I know, and sights I have seen. If you look really closely, you too will surely see, ideas are all around you… awaiting discovery.

What sort of paints does Bryce use?
Bryce uses watercolours and watercolour pencils.

My Sydney Adventure
What is your favourite illustration?
I like all the illustrations but one of my favourite is in My Aussie Bush Adventure, and is the platypus synchronize dive. Bryce likes the Flinders Street Clock illustration in My Melbourne Adventure and Harry says he likes all of them.

Great Ocean Road - Apostles

In the Warburton Book, why is Cement Creek called Cement Creek?
There is a creek on the way to Mt Donna Buang called Cement Creek. This was named because when gold was discovered in the area, there were many miners. Cement is a miner’s term for quartz and gravel conglomerates and this is what was found in this creek. By the way…. Donna Buang Mountain was named because the Aboriginal term ‘Donna’, means ‘body of the mountain’, like a sleeping woman. Donna Buang is 1250 metres high.

What book did you like reading as a child?

I just love A.A. Milne books, including Winnie the Pooh. Actually I still love reading these books today! I also loved Enid Blyton books, especially the Magic Faraway Tree. We had a pine tree over 100 years old in our backyard and I used to climb it and pretend I was in the Faraway tree…..most definitely a magical place to go.
